Cub Scout update

Lukas had a blue and gold banquet on Sunday and I'm just getting around to posting this. It was a spaghetti dinner for a celebration of their pack. Ben couldn't make it because he had to go to bed for work, so I asked my mom and sister to go. The food was great and they also had an awards ceremony. Lukas earned his TIGER CUB badge and COLLECTING belt loop! He was super excited and asked me right away if I'd sew his badge on that night.

Throughout the year, he has earned a bunch of beads (black, orange, and white) for den activities, family activities, and go see it. Months ago, he also earned his BOBCAT badge and GOOD MANNERS belt loop. For the rest of this year, we get to work on electives. Lukas really enjoys scouts. We're so proud of our tiger cub!

Lukas lost tooth #2

While we were eating dinner tonight, Lukas kept saying "Ow!" His 2nd tooth that has been loose for 3 weeks was hanging on by a thread. I told him that it was coming out tonight. I kept asking him if I could pull it out and he said "NO". I went into the bathroom and grabbed a tissue. I went back in to the living room and asked him if I could wiggle it and very quickly and gently pulled it out. He went to wiggle it and I said 'Lukas, it's right here". He said "OH"! I asked him if it hurt and he said "no." He didn't even cry this time. He just looked at me and said "Am I bleeding? I can taste blood." I ran and got him a cold wash cloth to bite down on for a while. Maybe now he'll trust me when I ask him if I can pull any of his future teeth.

After he finished dinner, he ran up to his room and got his tooth bear and shoved his tiny tooth in the little tooth pocket. He said "Mommy, you have to get a picture"... Yes, of course I do!

Birthday Party!

We had Landon's party this evening. I love when we get to celebrate the boys birthdays on the actual day! We even had the party around 4:30 which was about the time when he arrived into this wonderful world. He wanted a Toy Story party and a "Buzz" cake. His cake turned out absolutely amazing and he LOVED it! Of course, he had to have buzz's head as his piece of cake!

He couldn't wait to open his presents this year. He kept asking "can I open my presents now?" I kept repeating myself: "Yes, hunny, after everyone arrives." After everyone arrived, he went crazy opening gifts. We got him a tunnel for his Thomas take along track, Toy Story match box cars, Tiny Toy Story action figures, and Toy Story Operation. He also got clothes, big Rex, RC, Two Toy Story Lego train (one from Aunt Kri and one from Grandma & Rick), nerf football, bubbles, Toy Story Crayola explosions, Ford truck, John Deer book with tractor, Buzz (medium size), Buzz & Robot set, Toy Story tattoos and stickers. Thanks everyone for all the wonderful presents. You all made his birthday extra special! We all had a great time!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Landon! We love to infinity and beyond. ~Mommy & Daddy

Happy Valentine's Day!

We always try and make Valentine's Day special for the boys. This year Mommy made Lukas a special lunch. A double heart sandwich, heart sugar cookie and a very special valentine. Daddy made Landon a turkey heart sandwich for lunch, too! It's the small things that matter. :)

Lukas came home from school with a big bag of valentine's and treats. Landon started digging around in his bag right away and found lots of candy. I told him that it all belonged to Lukas and he had to ask him if he was allowed any. Lukas was very generous and shared half his candy. He's a GREAT big brother!

XOXO~Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! ~XOXO

Valentines :D

After we were finished with our cookies, Lukas wrote out his valentines for his class tomorrow. He picked out dinosaur cards this year. His teacher sent a note home with a list of all the students in the class. This was the first year that he wrote who the valentine was to. He had 17 to make out and he finished in less than 30 minutes. He was even excited to have 9 extra cards to keep for himself.

Sugar COOKIES

This evening, after Ben went to bed, the boys and I made Grandma's sugar cookies. It's our newest tradition for Valentine's Day! Landon was helping me at first dumping the ingredients in the mixing bowl. Lukas wondered in the kitchen next and was helping me with everything. He didn't want to bake cookies at first, but saw Landon and I having fun in the kitchen and wanted to join in. I'm so glad that he did because he was a GREAT assistant. At one point, he said "Hey Mommy, we're just like Cake Boss". He makes me laugh! Landon pooped out on us after he decorated a couple cookies, but Lukas helped me till the end. He told me that he had so much fun baking cookies. Lukas made all the icing and also helped with cutting the cookies out and putting them on the cookie sheets. I'm really impressed with Lukas' help today. Great job, buddy! Your cookies turned out wonderful:D

Orthodontist Visit!

Lukas has his second loose tooth and the permanent tooth broke through right behind it (I posted this picture). We knew this didn't seem right and called our dentist. They wanted to see him right away. He told us that it was time to take him to see an orthodontist. We knew this was coming, but not this fast!

Today, we took him to his appointment for a consultation. He was a little scared at first, but did extremely well. We were very impressed. Right away, they took x-rays and pictures. They had a chest of toys and he picked out a football. After they got the results, we all met in a private room and the Doctor looked at him and we also discussed our options. Lukas sat in the chair very nicely and did everything the Doctor said. Lukas loved looking at his x-rays. He thought they were so neat. We were also surprised at what we were looking at. He has extreme crowding on the bottom and to our surprise the same thing is going to happen to his top teeth. The good news is that everything that's happening with his teeth is very normal. We also learned that they start earlier because the gums, jaws and teeth are real soft and easy to adjust as a child. It's actually too early for him to start treatments so we have to wait 9 months. We are scheduled to go back in November and they will take another look and we may start the first phase then. This will consist of expanding his jaws and braces on the top four teeth. We can't start until his two front permanent teeth and top six year molars have erupted. It's already been recommended that we do Phase I and Phase II treatment options. Check back in November to see what happens!
