55th Anniversary~Surprise Party!

Today, we went to surprise my Nanny and Pappap for their 55th anniversary. My Mom, Aunt Lee Ann and Uncle John made reservations at the J-Barn in Sarver. It's a very cozy atmosphere where everyone can enjoy each others company. We all arrived before Nanny and Pappap. They were thinking that they were only having dinner with my Mom, Lee Ann, Jeff, Ashlynn, John, Eileen, Ian and Jamie. Needless to say, the entire immediate family was there to surprise them. They sure were surprised and their expressions were priceless. They are two very extraordinary people who are loved & admired dearly by so many people and truly are the greatest grandparents in the world!

Sugar cookies

This  afternoon, Lukas and I made Easter sugar cookies from scratch. This was my first attempt at this and I was totally exhausted. For the first time, Lukas was into it from start to finish. I was surprised how excited he was and didn't poop out on me...LOL! He wanted to color Easter eggs, but I told him that'd have to done another day. Ben and I think he did a splendid job=] Enjoy the pics.

Homework

Lukas gets homework every Monday and Wednesday. It's not mandatory, but we make it...LOL! This is to help the children get ready for kindergarten. Tonight, Lukas had a lot of fun with his assignment. He had to cut the scrambled numbers from the top of the page and then paste them in numerical order. He's getting really good with the scissors and cutting along the dotted lines. To my surprise, he's also very neat and clean with the glue! Check it out in the pics how he glued the numbers in place.

After he finishes his homework, I always have him write his name. Tonight, he had a big surprise for me and showed me that he knows how to hold his pencil/pen correctly. "I learned it today, Mommy". I was so happy that I had tears in my eyes. I couldn't wait to tell Ben when he got up for work.

Mrs. Blair (his teacher) was right. I was concerned for months that Lukas wasn't holding his pencil right. She told me not to push or worry, and that he'd do it when he was ready. I surely didn't think it'd be this soon. Ben and I are both so proud of Lukas.

Kindergarten registration!

This afternoon, I took Lukas to register for kindergarten. I can't believe this time has come already! Where has the time gone? My baby is going to KINDERGARTEN this fall (as I wipe a tear from my eye). Basically today, I spent and hour and a half filling out paper work and Lukas got to play with other kids. He was excited he got a red balloon, cookies and a coupon for a breakfast sandwich for McDonalds. He has to take a screening test on April 24th. Kiski Area School District does offer half day and full day classes. I was told that it depends on how he tests as to which class he'll be placed in. Wish him luck...I'll keep you posted!

Monster Golf

This afternoon, we took Lukas to a classmate's birthday party at Monster Golf – an indoor glow-in-the-dark miniature golf. They had pizza, cake and drinks for the kids, then they spent the rest of the time golfing and playing arcade games. This was Lukas' first time to miniature golf and he did very well and loved every minute of it. Ben and I can't wait to take him again.

New Shoes!

Today, we headed out to the "Mills" and got the boys new shoes. Lukas wears a size 11 and Landon wears a size 5. We got Lukas a new pair of shoes similar to his old merrells and he also got a pair of stride rite sandals, which are really awesome. Landon got his own pair of merrells which match Ben and Lukas'. They are so stinking cute. "I actually took a picture of all their "merrells" together:) (yes, I'm crazy!)." We decided to wait on getting Landon his sandals today since their little feet grow so rapidly.
