Lee's Lanes birthday party

This afternoon, from 2-4, we had Lukas' bowling party with his friends at Lee's Lanes. We had a total of 8 kids, which turned out nice. We had two bumper lanes so we put 4 kids on a lane. This was his first time bowling and did really good. He won his first game and got a few spares. My mom and I baked cupcakes. I ordered pizza and took a cooler with water and juice boxes. The kids only cared about bowling, so we opened the gifts right before we left. It turned out to be a wonderful party. Thanks everyone!

RIP Bailey

What a sad day at the Remaley house today. Ben and the boys took Bailey to the vet to be put her to sleep. A couple weeks ago, we noticed that she was losing some weight. Ben had found a worm and we thought that she was losing weight from that. We treated her for that, but she wasn't getting any better. Ben and the boys took her to the vet on Tuesday and they tested her blood. She had feline leukemia and also a kidney failure. She was only 5lbs when they weighed her. Ben and I decided that putting her to sleep was the best option. This way she wouldn't suffer anymore. Ben and Lukas buried her under the tree in our yard while I was at work. Lukas is doing fine, though we don't think he truly understands. We will all miss her, especially Lukas. This was his kitty. He was always so good to her. He'd wipe the sleepers from her eyes everyday and she didn't mind at all. Ben already misses her chasing his shoe laces as he gets ready to leave for work. And, I'll miss her chasing and killing all the bugs in the house. We got her when Lukas was two. We never thought that she'd be one of the first cats to pass. The vet was really great with the kids and gave them a toy mouse to remember her and also her paw print. Ben forgot that, but he's going to call about it tomorrow. Here's some photos when she was a kitten.

Pre-Kindergarten Graduation

This morning, Lukas graduated Pre-Kindergarten from Cardinal Maida Academy. They had a spectacular ceremony in the gym at 9:oo. They started the program with the kids singing songs: "There are seven days", The months of the year", "Jump for Jesus", "Flowers for Mary", and "The Freeze". They all did so well. Then they were called up for their certificates (I designed them). After that, Mrs. Blair (Luke's teacher) had put a slide show together that was about 5 minutes. Then they ended the graduation with cookies and punch. We will be getting his report card and a copy of the DVD (slide show) in the mail.

Before we left, we had to go to his classroom to pick up some of his stuff and I took a couple pics.

CONGRATULATIONS LUKAS...We're so proud of you!

Memorial Day

What a gorgeous weekend it turned out to be. We were very busy with birthday parties and cookouts this weekend. Today, we decided to take it easy and hang at home with the kids. We got out the water slide and wiggle sprinkler for the boys. Landon didn't like "Mr. Wiggles" very much. Lukas had a blast going back and forth between the two. His battery was also done charging and he got to ride his gator this evening. We had Teets, Mindy, and their dog, Mika, over for a little cookout and to eat some left over birthday cake. Lukas took Mika for ride in his gator. It was a very jerky ride for her, but Lukas thought it was cool. We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!

Lukas' Family Party

This evening we celebrated Lukas' 5th birthday with the family. This year, he wanted his theme to be Nascar "Dale Jr." He was so excited about his cake and his party. He got lots of new summer clothes/pj's, a soccer ball, 7' x 7' tent, new battery for his gator...Yay!, more Thomas the Train stuff, books, bull dozer, birthday cash and most of all, his favorite, THE CASH REGISTER!! He sure did make out well=] THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE! We love you all...MWAH! Here are a few photos from the party.

Working on the Gator!

Friday evening, Teets stopped over and Ben talked him into spray painting Luke's John Deere Gator. We got lazy the last couple years and didn't put it away for Winter or keep it out of the sun and it was starting to fade. Ben bought a can of spray paint a couple months ago and never got around to doing it, so he told Teets to do it. I helped him tape off the stickers and etc. It almost looks brand new again, minus some of the stickers I ended up ripping off. Lukas is so happy! Now all he needs is a new battery and he's ready to go=]

Thanks again Uncle Teets...you did a great job!

Kindergarten Kick-off

Tonight, I took Lukas to kindergarten kick-off. It started at 5:30 with pizza and drinks. Around 6:00 they had the kids in groups and had them rotate around the gym to 6 learning stations. Before leaving that station they got a "tool" to take home with them. Lukas had a lot of fun and got to meet some kids that he'll be going to school with this Fall and the teachers. Here's a picture of all the "tools" he got tonight. At the last station, the kids had to take everything out of their white bag and had to follow directions on what to draw on it. The first direction was to draw a smiley face in the middle of the bag. Then they had to draw their favorite food above the smiley face (he drew a lollipop). Then they were told to write their name below the smiley. He really enjoyed this activity and did great. We will have orientation the first week of August and I can't wait!

CHECK-UPS

Ben took the boys this morning for their
5 year and 15 month check-ups.

Lukas passed his eye and hearing screening with flying colors and had to get two shots in the arm. He did fine with the first shot, but the second shot got him and made him cry. When I got home from work, he told me that "he cried today at the Dr.'s office and that he doesn't like the nurse" and "Landon doesn't like the doctor." LOL!

Lukas weighed in at 34.5 pounds and is 42"! He's our string bean!

Landon also had to get two shots in his leg and of course he cried. He had a great visit and is also very healthy. He's very shy with all strangers and absolutely hates going to the Dr.'s office. It was very difficult to weigh him this time. Ben said that he did not want to sit on the scale. Hopefully he grows out of this stage soon.

Landon weighed in at 24 pounds and is 32.5"! Watch out Luke...your little bro is catching up!!

Lukas picked out a red crayola band-aid and picked a blue one for his baby brother. I hate when they have to get their shots:(

Mother's Day!

This was the best Mother's Day ever! Lukas made me a project at school and it's a piece I'll cherish forever. Ben and I think that it's the coolest thing that he's brought home this year. Ben read it before me and told me to read it. I started to read it out loud, but after the second sentence, I started to choke up. It is very cute and I love it...this made my Mother's Day so special. On top of that, Ben got me a bouquet of flowers and a pot of mums. I love my husband and boys so much...thank you from the bottom of my heart. And, thank you to everyone who sent me cards in the mail and text messages=]
