2nd Orthodontist Appt.

Today was Lukas's 2nd appointment at the orthodontist. We both have to be at the next two appointments. First, they took out the spacers from last week. Then, they had to find the right size bands for his teeth that will hold the upper expander. Next, they had him pick out a flavor for his expander and make his mold. He really disliked this part. He said it was terrible. At the end of the session, they let him pick out the colors he wanted for his expander. He picked out glitter black and gold...Steeler colors baby! Before we left they put in new spacers that are a little thicker. This will help make the bands slide on easier next week. He's doing great about not eating certain foods! We are super proud of him:)

Back-2-School

Lukas started 3rd Grade!

We can't believe our 1st born is a 3rd grader.
He is growing up way too fast! His looks have changed so much from last year. He picked out his new school clothes and shoes all by himself. Check out the shoes he wanted! :)

We love you LUKAS...GOOD LUCK in 3rd GRADE!!!

Lukas lost tooth #7!

Lukas lost his 7th tooth tonight. Mommy was flossing his teeth and he said "Mommy, this tooth is very loose...pull it out". She tried, but was having some difficulty. Lukas kept going on and on about how wiggly it was and Landon said "let me wiggle it"! Lukas said "OK" and next thing we know Lukas yelled "OUCH" and when he turned around blood was everywhere. Landon partially knocked his tooth out! Mommy quickly took a kleenex and pulled it out. Landon was apologizing "I'm so sorry Lukas" and Lukas said "That's OK buddy, you helped get my tooth out. You knocked it out"! Seriously, there is never a dull moment at this house and we love every minute.

Soccer TIME:)

Lukas started Fall soccer today! He is U10 this year and it's not coed. He's really excited about playing this year. We had to get him new cleats, size 4 ball, and new soccer game shorts. His shin pads still fit from when he first started playing (age 5). He has the very skinny, boney legs:) He knows a few of the boys on his team, which is great. He will be practicing 2 days a week for and hour and a half. His coach is very nice and told us that he's very competitive and expects to WIN!

At the end of practice, Coach got the team together and they voted on a team name: "Sharks" Here's some pictures from his first practice:)

We'll keep you posted on his soccer season. GOOD LUCK, LUKAS!

Phase I – Spacers

Lukas started Phase I of the braces process today.

Phase I involves early treatment that will help prevent more serious problems from developing and may make treatment at a later date shorter and less complicated. Phase I generally involves the use of expanders. Lukas has an over bite and serious crowding on the top and bottom. Today he had the spacers put in and he has to back on August 31st to get the expander.

He seems excited about the process:)

Beach Boys!

The boys went on vacation with Nanny, Aunt Kri, Great Nanny & Pappap, Uncle John and Aunt Eileen. They left Friday, August 3rd and came home Saturday, August 11th. This was the first time that Landon left us! This was very emotional for us, but we know that this is really good for him to be away from us. He did extremely well and didn't even cry! Everyone told us that they were very well behaved (didn't fight at all) and had a blast.

We have to admit...it seemed like the longest week ever without our two boys. We didn't really know what to do with ourselves. Of course, we had to still work, but those two weekends without the boys was very quiet around the house. We did get a chance to hang out with really great friends two Saturdays in a row, which never happens! It was also very nice because we don't get to see each other very much with our opposite work schedules. It was great quality time for just the two of us.

Since Kelly didn't go on vacation this year, we don't have many pics to share. We did talk to the boys everyday and got random texts from family with some photos, which we LOVED! We even spent time texting with Lukas on Kristy's phone. We have a feeling he may be asking for a cell phone soon!

Thank You to our wonderful family for taking our boys to Sandy Pond! We love you all

Off they go!

A cake for Daddy

The boys came home late Saturday night from vacation, so they missed Daddy's birthday. They wanted to bake him a cake so we did this today after he went to bed. They woke him up at 10:00 and surprised him with their cake. The candles are suppose to represent "33"! Hehe:)

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Ben's Birthday!

On Friday, August 10th, Ben turned 33!

The boys have been on vacation all week and are coming home tonight. Since we were kid-free, Ben wanted to celebrate by going to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse and ride Go Carts with our besties!
We went out with Mike, Megan, Teets, Mindy and Everett. We even surprised Ben by telling our waitress it was his birthday and they made him sit on the saddle while they sang to him. It was so much fun and he was a great sport about it! Make sure to watch the video clip:)

After we spent a couple hours at the Roadhouse, we strolled through the Clearview Mall and the last store (Dick's) we were in we got thrown out. Let's just say we all were having a great time.

We went to Eracers to ride go carts, but it started to rain and they decided to close:(
Instead, we decided to go to the Fieldhouse and have a few drinks.
Thanks everyone for making the day so much fun. Ben had a wonderful time!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband! LOVE YOU
