Two sick kids

Well, this was a rough week. Landon has two ear infections and started coughing yesterday. I was hoping that he wouldn't get one before his first birthday. The pediatrician said that he is behaving extremely well for having one really bad ear infection. The other ear isn't as bad. Lukas has a bad cold and missed two days of school. The doctor said his cold could last 6-8 days:( I can't wait till they both are feeling better...I hate it when they're sick and can't wait till we all get some sleep! Needless to say, they haven't been very photogenic or doing much this week.

Playing in the snow

This afternoon we took the boys out to play in the snow. This was Landon's first time to be in the snow and he enjoyed it for about 20 minutes then was ready to head back in the house. I took Landon in for a nap, then headed back out with Ben and Lukas to play. They were building a fort and I decided to make a snowman. The fort may be here until summer...LOL!

News

This past Saturday, we decided to look at trading my car in since my lease is up in May. That afternoon, I drove home my new 2009 Colbalt after being at the dealership for 4 hours. We got a good deal and I did not lease this time, nor will I ever again. I am so glad to be out of that and weight has lifted from my shoulders now that it's over. So, my new car is a blue/green color and has black interior (which is great because of the boys). And, as super plus, it has a factory remote starter! This surprise came at the very end when I was signing the papers.

Landon also has been taking one or two steps on his own! He does really good until he starts laughing, which is every time, then loses balance. Also last week, Ben called me at work to tell me that Landon has learned how to clap. Every time we say "yeah" he puts his hands together and smiles and claps. He also loves to give "high fives". It's really cute!

I've been working with Lukas on his lowercase identification and he knows all but 2 letters. He really only didn't know 7 letters, which wasn't as bad as I thought from the report card grade, but I started working with him and he's doing great. This week we are going to start teaching him how to tie his shoes. This should be fun!

New Bedroom Set for the Boys!

Today, the new bedroom set arrived for the boys. To our surprise, it did not come with the ladder and the extra side step storage unit (which was my favorite part of the bed). The sales person didn't mention to us that those were not included. So, Ben called them as soon as they opened and talked to the guy who sold us the furniture. The bed will not fit in the room with the extra storage unit, so we decided not to get that and we are going to get the ladder for free (because of complaining). Ben had to also call them back this evening because we noticed that the one of the dresser was damaged...Ugh! Overall, we are very happy with the new bedroom set and so is Lukas. He is totally excited about his new bed and even did his homework at his new desk tonight. We haven't finished the room completely, as you'll notice, we still have to get a chair for the desk. Lukas wanted to use it so badly that we gave him the stool from the old kitchen table.

Lukas' 1st report card

Lukas went back to school today after being off for 2 weeks for Christmas vacation. When I got home from work, he showed me his first report card. I was overly excited and a bit nervous. Ben and I were very pleased with Lukas' accomplishments. I was just extremely excited since this was his first report card...another milestone! I scanned it for everyone to see. As you'll notice, we have to work with him on his lowercase letter identification. I'm so glad that they sent this home so we know how they are doing in class. I also scanned a Christmas artwork project that is very neat.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!
This was the first New Year's Eve that we stayed home and actually went to bed at 10:30. It was actually very relaxing. It was nice to have the whole day and evening to play with the boys. This morning we got up early and went shopping at Levin's for a new bedroom set for the boys. Lukas is so excited he picked out his new bunk bed for him and Landon. We also got 2 dressers and a desk. We are so excited. Everything will arrive on Wednesday, January 7th!

BEST WISHES IN 2009!!
