Update on Swimming Lessons

Today was Lukas' 3rd day of swimming lessons. On Monday, he wouldn't put his entire head under water so I bought him a pair of goggles and now he loves to go under. They started using kick boards and venturing out into the deeper end of the pool (of course with a lifeguard). He's getting a little better at kicking, but has a little more work yet. At the end of the lesson today, they took the kids over to the diving boards where it's 11ft. He said that he didn't want to "do that, it's scary". He stood outside the pool and observed the other kids jump off while the lifeguard caught them. It was just a few minutes later that he was ready to try jumping off the boards. The first time the one lifeguard helped him, then after that he said "that was fun" and he went 4 more times all by himself. I am so proud of him, it's amazing how much he's accomplished in 3 days.

Landon got his 1st tooth!

After swimming lessons, we came home and the boys got their bath right away. As a daily routine, I was cleaning Landon's gums and and sure enough he has a tooth on his bottom gum. Lukas was so excited he said "let me see mommy", so I took his finger and put it on Landon's tooth and he said "I feel it!!!". It was so cute, I wish I'd caught it on video. Speaking of videos, Here's a short clip of Landon giggling away in his swing yesterday afternoon.

Swimming Lessons

Lukas started swimming lessons today. He will have lessons for 2 weeks (July 28 – Aug 8) from 8-9 pm. He did very well for his first day. The class started off with "bobbing", then the lifeguards had them hang on the wall and learn to kick. At the end of class they played a game with rocks. They went to the shallow end of the pool and would drop the rocks and have the kids go under water and grab the rock. Lukas enjoyed this, but was trying to be sneaking and reach without putting his head under the water.

Fun with Bubbles

Today, I got home early from work and the boys and I spent the afternoon playing outside. Lukas wanted to blow bubbles and Landon had so much fun trying to reach for them. Landon's hand/eye coordination has really progressed over the last couple weeks. He was very content sitting in his bumbo seat picking grass. Lukas and I played some baseball and after that we played on the swing set. Lukas was on the see-saw and I was on the swing holding Landon. We were all having a blast until I got stung by a bee...ouch! Needless to say, that ended play time outdoors very quickly:)

Landon's 5 months!

Landon turned 5 months today...wow! He is growing up way too fast. He as been rolling over for a couple months and now he's rolling across the room. He has been spinning around on his belling and today we noticed that he's trying to crawl. He kept trying to get his knees up under him and inch his hands forward. We don't think it will be too long before he's crawling around. Here are a couple pictures that I took this afternoon.

Lukas' Photography

Lukas started using our camera a month ago. He really enjoys taking pictures. Here a few of his shots. The one is a picture of his wooden train that we bought him at the Twin Lakes festival, his Nascars, his foot(LOL), Landon and I, and Ben getting ready for work. I think he's doing pretty darn good for a 4 year old.

4th of July weekend

This was a very busy weekend for the boys. It was Landon's 1st 4th of July. We went to the Twin Lakes Festival, had a pool party to attend and took the boys to the "trail." It was a fun packed weekend. Landon didn't mind the fireworks at all, everyone was surprised how calm he was. On Saturday, Lukas went to grandma's for a sleepover with his cousins Zack and Logan. Needless to say, he was very cranky on Sunday since he didn't get much sleep. Here are some photos from the weekend.
