Goodbye #5

Lukas lost his 5th tooth at school today.

He told us:
"I've never lost a tooth in school before! I was sitting in class and it just plopped out. It happened during math. I raised my hand and my teacher thought I wanted to answer the question. When she called on me, I said my tooth is bleeding. She sent me to the nurse and she got me all cleaned up. They gave me a small envelope to put my tooth in and stapled it shut. I also had a friend in class that lost a tooth a lunch. We were "LUCKY" today!" Hehe...too cute:)

Look, his two front teeth are finally coming through!

Blue & Gold Banquet

This evening, Lukas had his pack Blue & Gold Banquet. The Blue and Gold Banquet is a celebration of the anniversary of Cub Scouting and is named after the symbolic colors of Cub Scouting. It is held in February and is the biggest pageant of the Scouting year. A special committee is formed a few months in advance of the event and plans the meeting. Scouts will be asked to assist in planning the event and participating in the banquet. This event is always a highlight of the boys’ Cub Scout experience. This year, was a huge success. We had about 120 people! We had a pre-opening slideshow with photos of what the boys have been up to this year. The Flag Ceremony was done by the Webelos & Bears, had a wonderful spaghetti dinner followed by awards, rank advancements, beads, belt loops, skits by each Den, and a guest speaker about camp promotions. Lukas earned his Wolf badge and 4 ranking beads! Now, he can work on earning his gold & silver arrow points. Below is a video of the wolves skit "Pack 553 goes ice fishing" They did a great job! There's even a picture of me handing out beads and belt loops to my den. They really are a great group of boys to work with!

Party #2!

We started our day with Sunday School and church. Landon got a little gift from his Sunday School teacher and they even sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

At 2:00, we had "Party #2" at Great Nanny and Pappap's house. We celebrated with cake and ice-cream and spent some quality time with family. There was a house full: Great Nanny, Pappap, Nanny, Pappy Sam, Uncle Clint, Aunt Sandy, Nathan, Aunt Kristy, Jason, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Lee Ann, Ashlynn, David and Ian. He got many more gifts. We let him open a couple up so the kiddos could play. One of the gifts that Aunt Kristy got him was mouse trap, and they all had fun playing that. They just loved playing with the marble maze.

After his party, The boys and I went roller skating with Aunt Kri and Jason. Ben had to go home and go to bed. It was Landon's first time on skates. We tried roller blades first, but he just couldn't get the hang of it. We put him back in the training skates. He did much better with those. It was Lukas's first time wearing the real skates. He took a few hits to the floor, but caught on really quick. Even I put on skates. It has been about 15 years since I went roller skating, but it didn't take long for me to catch the hang of it. We all can't wait to go again with Daddy!

Happy 4th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday Dear Landon,
Happy Birthday to you!

Happy, Happy Birthday to a very special little boy...
...we can't believe our baby boy is four already.
No matter how old you get, you'll always be our baby!

We love you so much ~ MOMMY & DADDY

Birthday Party 1

This year, we are having two parties for Landon to make it easier on Great Nanny and Pappap. Today, we kicked-off the birthday weekend with "party #1". We had a small gathering at our house with Grandma, Pappy Rick, Uncle Doug, Uncle Mike, Megan, Zack and Tyler. He wanted the Star Wars lego theme. He wanted Captain Rex and it was spot on! Our cake lady did an AWESOME job. We loved it and SO DID LANDON! He also got really great gifts. We got him the Star Wars turbo tank (that's what he wanted). We were joking around with him all day telling him he was going to get Barbie legos and when he opened it up he said "I'm so glad it wasn't Barbie!" Landon and Lukas were both really excited about his Forest Police Station from Uncle Mike and Megan. After we had cake and ice-cream, we had a lego building party. Everyone was building something. Landon kept asking Lukas if he could have this or that and we had to keep telling him that these were all his toys, not Lukas's. He had a really great day and is excited about tomorrow, too! We love you, Landon~ Mommy, Daddy and Lukas

Recorder!

Lukas is learning to play a recorder in music class. We ordered this at the beginning of the school year and they arrived and he's beginning. Ben and I remember when we had recorders in school. They were these really cheap flute-a-phones. We both recall that they were white with a red mouth piece. The recorders today are really nice. It looks like a clarinet and it even came with a case and cleaning wand. We were pretty impressed. Lukas is very excited about learning to play his recorder!

Valentine's Day!

We made our traditional Valentine sugar cookies. Landon really helped us out this time, and of course, he was the first to dive into the cookies after we finished. Lukas is our best helper. He hangs in there till the very end. He's getting so good at decorating sugar cookies. The boys had a wonderful day!

This year both boys wanted Star War Valentine's. They sure do make our job easy:)

Landon had his first Valentine's party at school. He is leader of his class this week. Which means we are in charge of snacks all week. It's also his birthday week! We made special treats for his classmates for his party and also made a special "Valentine's Snack." He picked out applesauce, pink juice boxes, and outer space gold fish. Mommy put heart stickers all around the applesauce bowl and put a tiny heart sticker on a plastic spoon for each child. Then put everything in a "Valentine's Snack" bag. On Thursday, we'll send in birthday cupcakes! He's really excited about school this week.

Lukas didn't want to send in a Valentine's treat. He only wanted to pass out his Valentine's. He's growing up way too fast:(

Pirates Cove Waterpark

Today, we went to a birthday party at Conley Resort. They have a Pirate themed indoor water park. We were the first party to arrive, so we had the pool all to ourselves for the first hour. The boys had a blast! Great place, we are definitely going to have to take them back.
Enjoy the pics! Happy 7th Birthday, Tyler!

100th Day of School!

Today was Lukas's 100th day of school.

He was super excited this morning to go on his 100th day. Not only was it the 100th day, but also Groundhog Day. His teacher made a fun, big deal out of today. Lukas got a "100th day" bracelet, a Groundhog Day homework pass, some really cool poems, and colored a picture – he predicted 6 more weeks. He guessed right, Groundhog Phil saw his shadow!

Landon also had school today and learned about Groundhog Day. He made a really cute craft. It's a toilet paper roll, popsicle stick with a groundhog head glued at the top of the stick. He put the stick through the roll and pops the head up. He said "Oh-uh, the groundhog saw his shadow. He's going back to sleep for 6 more weeks." So simple~So adorable!

Here are a couple poems that Lukas brought home:

~*~100 Days of School~*~
Ready to celebrate?
It's the 100th day of school.
We've studied hard each day.
Learning is cool.
We've made many friends.
Here at school.
What fun it is to say we've been at school 100 days!

100 days, 100 days,
100 days of school.
We've been in school 100 days.
We think that's really cool!

100 days, 100 days,
100 days of school.
We've been in school 100 days.
We love to be in school!

Sly little Groundhog
According to a legend
That started long ago,
There's a little furry animal
Who knows something we don't know.
He builds his home beneath the ground,
then curls into a ball.
He sleeps and sleeps the months away.
He eats no food at all.
Then, on February second,
he steps from his warm bed.
He rubs his eyes, and stretches,
and shakes his sleepy head.
He waddles up the ramp he built;
his message must be told.
He saw his shadow on the ground,
We have six more weeks of cold!
