Today was Lukas's 100th day of school.
He was super excited this morning to go on his 100th day. Not only was it the 100th day, but also Groundhog Day. His teacher made a fun, big deal out of today. Lukas got a "100th day" bracelet, a Groundhog Day homework pass, some really cool poems, and colored a picture – he predicted 6 more weeks. He guessed right, Groundhog Phil saw his shadow!
Landon also had school today and learned about Groundhog Day. He made a really cute craft. It's a toilet paper roll, popsicle stick with a groundhog head glued at the top of the stick. He put the stick through the roll and pops the head up. He said "Oh-uh, the groundhog saw his shadow. He's going back to sleep for 6 more weeks." So simple~So adorable!
Here are a couple poems that Lukas brought home:
~*~100 Days of School~*~
Ready to celebrate?
It's the 100th day of school.
We've studied hard each day.
Learning is cool.
We've made many friends.
Here at school.
What fun it is to say we've been at school 100 days!
100 days, 100 days,
100 days of school.
We've been in school 100 days.
We think that's really cool!
100 days, 100 days,
100 days of school.
We've been in school 100 days.
We love to be in school!
Sly little Groundhog
According to a legend
That started long ago,
There's a little furry animal
Who knows something we don't know.
He builds his home beneath the ground,
then curls into a ball.
He sleeps and sleeps the months away.
He eats no food at all.
Then, on February second,
he steps from his warm bed.
He rubs his eyes, and stretches,
and shakes his sleepy head.
He waddles up the ramp he built;
his message must be told.
He saw his shadow on the ground,
We have six more weeks of cold!
