Memorial Day Parade

We went to the Leechburg parade this morning to watch Lukas march with his Cub Scout Pack. Lukas looked so proud marching in the parade. We are so proud of him and everything he's accomplished!

Landon really enjoyed watching the parade. Seeing all the fire trucks, bands, cars and his big brother! After the parade, we went to visit Great Nanny, Nanny and Pappy.

8th Birthday Party!

We celebrated Lukas's 8th birthday today. WOW! Seriously, where has the time gone. It can slow down at any time now. Happy 8th Birthday, Lukas!

He picked the Star Wars theme, too! Though, he didn't go with the lego Star Wars like Landon did. We celebrated with our traditional Memorial Day picnic. Great food, cake & ice cream, presents, water toys, and a Darth Vader pinata! I made fruit kabobs this year. They were time consuming, but turned out great. Landon really loved them. I'm going to make these more often for the boys.

The cake was very interesting this year. As Kelly was lighting the candles, they were sparking like fireworks and they took forever to light. Once Lukas went to blow them out, we all realized they were trick candles. She had no idea that she even bought trick candles. Lukas loved it! What a great surprise for all of us:) Our cake lady couldn't do his cake again this year, but we all loved the cake we got! It was delicious, too.

Lukas really wanted a pinata this year. Aunt Kri found it at Babies R Us! It was really cool looking, too. Everyone thought it was the cake sitting on the table. We told the kids that Lukas would be the first to since it was his birthday. We decided to have the kids hit the pinata with Luke's new walking stick instead of pulling the strings. The strings never work. Kelly blind folded Lukas and let him go with some direction. Well, he missed on the first hit, so we told him to go one more time and he hit the pinata and it broke in half. So, none of the other kids even got a chance to go. Oh well, at least the birthday boy got to knock it down:)

He got so many great gifts. The BeyBlade's were on the top of his list. He loves the remote controlled BeyBlade that Uncle Mike and Megan got him. He also got wii games, another fishing pole, fishing lures, legos, clothes, and his 20" bike! After everyone left, Lukas said "I have an awesome family. I'm so lucky". He's absolutely right. He is very blessed!

Spring Family Camp

On Friday, right after Lukas got out of school, we headed to Camp Agawam for family camp. All of us were super excited to use all of our new camping gear. Especially our new tent! The program was built around the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. They also had re-enactors and crafts persons as well as a Civil War Artillery Crew that did actual firing of cannons. It was awesome! Check our video clip at the end:)

Lukas spent most of Saturday fishing. That's all he wanted to do all weekend. He caught nine fish. The last one he caught was a wide mouth baby bass. We had a really fun weekend with Pack 553! We are all looking forward to the next camping trip:)

Moving-up Ceremony

Tonight was Lukas's Cub Scout moving-up ceremony.
He's officially a Bear!

He earned his gold and four silver arrow points. He also received his Art belt loop and his patch from the winter event. He was so excited and proud. He made a lot of new buddies this year.

I had so much fun working with this group of boys this year. Looking forward to doing stuff over the summer and next year!  ~Mrs. Remaley

Last Day of Preschool

Today was Landon's last day of preschool. We can't believe it! What a transformational year...he really changed a lot from the beginning of the year. Our baby is growing up.

His teacher put on a small program. They sang a bunch of songs, got certificates and presented a gift to the teacher's aide (Mrs. Fish). It is her last year teaching. Landon loves Mrs. Fish!

His teacher took us aside and told us "She wished every child in the class was just like Landon." We are very proud parents!

Great job, Landon...we are so proud of you:)
