Yesterday, we had Lukas's birthday party. This year, he wanted to have a lego party. We did have a hard time finding a lego cake, but we were able to convince Giant Eagle to make me an edible photo cake with a picture Kelly took of some legos that Lukas built. It actually turned out better than we thought it would. All that really matters is that Lukas LOVED it!
We had our usual big birthday picnic bash and the weather was gorgeous and hot! Lukas couldn't wait to open his presents. He got SO MANY Legos! He's definitely in lego heaven. He also got many other great gifts. Lukas had a funny moment and we laughed about it all night. We kept telling him to read the cards and tell us who the gifts were from before he opened them. On the second or third gift, he was standing there staring at a card. His friend, Tyler, said "Lukas, can you read?" and after a 30 second pause, Lukas yelled "Well, I can't read cursive!" We also got this on video and will be sure never to forget it. LOL! And, thanks to Nanny for writing in cursive:)
We had a wonderful day. The boys had so much fun playing with the new legos, running through the sprinkler and playing with Lukas's new water gun. We sure did build new, wonderful, family memories! Thanks everyone so much for making his birthday party so special. We love you all!
