Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day weekend. Especially Saturday!

Both boys showered me with flowers and HOMEMADE CARDS that they created in school. I absolutely LOVE the cards. I'm so blessed to have two wonderful, handsome boys. I LOVE them SO MUCH!

Roaring Run

We took the boys to Roaring Run to ride their bikes today. It was a great way to spend Mother's Day weekend. Lukas was really excited and couldn't wait to go! When we got on the trail, he was gone. We were walking and had to help out Landon. We put the training wheels back on Lukas's old bike. Landon loves his new big boy bike! We think that he will learn quick. He wants to do everything that his big brother does. He even stands up while pedaling. Lukas never did that with the training wheels on. We can't wait for Landon to learn so we all can go riding together.

At one point, we could no longer see Lukas which was a little bit scary. After about 10-15 minutes, we could finally see him ahead of us at a long distance. When he made it back to us, we told him not to get too far ahead. We realized we should have set the rules before we started, but neither of us thought he'd take off like he did.

Landon is really into to bugs. He found a few caterpillars and one that we named "speedy" attached himself to Landon. He thought it was so funny and was calling him his pet. Speedy traveled with us all the way home riding on Landon shirt. He tucked himself under the collar of Landon's shirt and that's were he stayed for a couple hours. Landon eventually got him off and played with him, then set him free in our yard. He's too much:)

Rocket Launch Picnic

Lukas's Cub Scout Pack had their rocket launch picnic today. This is the first time our pack did a rocket launch. Is was a gorgeous day and we couldn't have asked for better weather.

Everyone brought a covered dish and we had LOTS of food and everything was delicious. The kids had so much fun running around the playground and playing games. We finished the event with the rocket launches. It was so NEAT. All the boys loved it. Some of the rockets had trouble taking off, but Lukas's went right off. He even ran and found it afterwards. Lukas really hopes we do this again next year!

Birthday Shopping

Saturday, we took Lukas shopping for his birthday present. We told him that we were buying him a new bike and wanted him to pick it out. Plus, we needed him there to size it. We looked at Walmart first, but all they had were 20" bikes. Everyone he tried, seemed too big and heavy for him. We decided to look elsewhere. We drove to Target and in their bicycle department had a chart. Lukas is at the height for 20" bike!!! This is why we LOVE Target! Thank goodness because they didn't make many 18" bikes and the ones they did have were too kid-like. We just figure it's going to take him a little time to adjust to the bigger bike. He picked out at really cool bike. Happy early Birthday LUKAS! We love you so much:)

1st Wii accident

We had our first Wii accident tonight. Lukas threw the remote at the bottom door of the entertainment stand and the door was hanging by a thread. He calmly walked into to the kitchen and said "Mommy, something broke". I couldn't believe my eyes when I turned the corner. He kept saying how sorry he was and that it was accident. I think he's learned his lesson. Luckily, when I woke Ben up for work at 11pm, he took a look at it and said that he'd be able to fix it. You can't even tell that it was broke.

Easter Dinner

We celebrated Easter at Great Pappy's and Nanny's house today. We had a huge ham dinner, egg hunt for the children and lots of family fun! The boys even colored Easter Eggs again with their cousin. Great times:)

We've been so busy that we had to push baking our Easter cookies. Ben went to bed early today, so the boys and I spent the evening baking away. I'm getting really good baking home-made sugar cookies!

the Easter Bunny

The boys woke us up at 7:30 to go find their Easter baskets. Lukas found his basket within 5 minutes. The third place he looked was inside the microwave and all you could hear was "I FOUND MY BASKET!" Landon took a little longer to find his. We gave him a little hint so he could enjoy his basket before we left for Sunday School. He figured out the hint right away and ran over to the entertainment stand and opened up the bottom doors and yelled "I FOUND MINE, TOO!" They each got a lot of candy, silly putty and a small lego toy in their basket. Lukas was a little disappointed. "This is all we get!" Landon was so excited to get his little toy. At 9:15 we left for Sunday school and church.

the Easter Beagle

When we got home from church, the boys found an envelope on the door. They had a visit from the Easter Beagle! He left them a scavenger hunt! They had to find the clues to the special prize that he left. Lukas read all the clues out loud and together they found the clues. They also had to look for eggs with the clues. The clues led them to the basement were they found a big basket full of gifts on top of the dryer. They were SO EXCITED! They got many great gifts: Star Wars Wii game, Puss in Boots, Star Wars coloring books, bubble wands, eggs filled with candy and change and another lego set. They had a really great Easter! Happy Easter, Everyone!
